Stan Wigley graduated MB BS, University of Melbourne. In 1956 Dr Wigley spent three months in New Guinea where he carried out a tuberculosis survey along the Sepik River. In 1959 he was appointed Specialist Medical Officer in the TPNG Department of Public Health with responsibility for the tuberculosis program.
